Vista del Norte, 2006
Located near the Rail Runner station south of Paseo del Norte, the popular Vista del Norte development has a reputation as one of the quietest, safest neighborhoods in Albuquerque, and is also known for its adjacent hot air balloon landing site.
After being awarded the maintenance contract, Heads Up project managers found large, overgrown shrubs, weeds choking common areas that were not along the main drives, thick tufts of weeds in the gravel along the main drives, trees that were blocking walkways due to lack of pruning, and areas that were not receiving irrigation as well as others receiving too much water.
The plan of attack was to begin with the entry drive into the development and then branch out through the community from there. Heads Up technicians began hand-pulling or spraying weeds and checking all the irrigation. Shrubs were trimmed off of the walkways and the common areas that had been neglected were weeded, pruned and raked. In time, Heads Up technicians found and repaired all the irrigation valves, with the result of getting water to places in the common area that were previously thought not to have been irrigated.
With the approval of the HOA, Heads Up also went to work making the long-neglected flower beds shine. The color team installed a vivid array of flowers that residents had not seen before, and just in time for the Balloon Fiesta.
The maintenance team had undertaken a large, upscale community which needed a lot of attention, and not only brought the development up to the exacting standards of Heads Up, but more importantly, to the wishes of the Vista del Norte HOA. Board President Richard Hix said, “We get compliments all the time about how our development looks so much better. I continue to recommend your company and have folks take a tour through Vista Del Norte as evidence. Thanks for the good work.”
